meet the director of Lion King Jr!
Cecie Gonzalez Parker’s passion for African music started in high school and grew under the mentorship of Dr. Ronald Kean. Trained initially as a choral conductor, Cecie’s journey into world music has shaped her diverse musical theatre expertise.
Drawing deep inspiration from the music of “The Lion King,” especially the album “Rhythm of the Pride Lands,” Cecie is thrilled to share her cultural knowledge and vocal techniques with the young cast of Lion King Jr.
Beyond directing, Cecie is a classically trained actress with notable roles in “1776: The Musical,” “Guys & Dolls,” and “Mamma Mia!” She also brings over 23 years of costume design and construction experience, specializing in hand-sewn details and “costume upcycling.”
Working with Ghostlight Productions and Academy once again, Cecie is eager to help performers discover new talents and foster a love for storytelling through music and performance. 🎭🎶

In March of 2014, the marquee at the historic Lincoln Theatre, in downtown Port Angeles, went dark. Now, efforts are being made to renovate this iconic local building.
As a champion of the arts in our community, Ghostlight is proud to partner in this project.
