Course Description

Storytelling, collaboration, artistry. These are just a few things that make a great choreographer.

This course covers choreographic devices and forms, pioneers in the field, how to collaborate with a director site-specifically, and developing your own personal process.

Choreographers will complete various assignments such as working with guest directors, creating their own pieces, and studio time with our Musical Theatre Jazz class dancers to put their new skills to practical use.

*This class will have a focus in musical theatre but will provide essential tools for choreographers of all genres. This course will not include learning the Movement Alphabet, though we will touch on it in our study. Students should have a dance background.
